Tooth flank testers are specialized devices for measuring the hardness of the tooth flanks of gears. The Rockwell N7 P tooth flank tester consists of several components, including the N1E 000 test unit with load lever, dial gauge, dial gauge guard and spring bushing, the measuring head with built-in spring joint including hardness test diamond and the clamping device. The standard equipment also includes the load level 62.5, a hardness value display (HRC), a tool set, a hardness comparison table, a device cassette and the operating instructions.

The N7 F tooth flank tester includes:

  • Tooth flank tester module 3-35
  • Maximum tooth width 700mm
  • Pitch circle diameter up to approx. 2000mm

N7F tooth flank tester is suitable for external gears with a module of 2-10 and a maximum tooth measuring width of 140 mm. Test procedure
The test procedure is divided into three main steps:

  1. Positioning the tester:
    The tester is placed on the workpiece to be tested and clamped in the desired position.
  2. Test load application
    The test load is applied using a hand lever.
  3. Clamping process
    After positioning, the tester is clamped to the test point.
  4. Reading the measurement results
    After the load has been applied, the result is read off the dial gauge.
